Hi Michael,

ML> We're maybe looking for different big ones.

Probably so.

ML> Sacerdote recommended against Capital One,
ML> so I've never considered dealing with it.

They've been good for us. We have a couple of other cards, one that we
use mostly around here, and the other as a back up for both of the
others. We also have some auto payments linked to some accounts.

ML> In a more ideal world, the card company
ML> would be on the lookout for that kind of
 ML> activity to begin with.

That's ideal, but Cap1 has been good in working with us. They know where
we usually use it so anything out of the ordinary, they will call us.

ML> The reason that I use it, quite simply, is
ML> that I'm within spitting distance of a
ML> place to pay my bill pretty much anywhere
ML> in the world. It's the same reason why CVS

OK, we do just about all our bill paying on line now.

ML> had my prescription business for so many
ML> years (Costco now for me).

CVS had the contract for Tricare/Express Scripts for a number of years,
made it convenient when we lived in the rental house in WF. CVS was on
the route to/from the seminary campus so if either of us had a
prescription, he would be able to pick it up. They lost the contract to
Walgreens a few years ago, not quite as convenient but more so than
Costco.

ML> have > been ones that have been laid off from other jobs.

ML> Yeah, but were it not for the seasonal work,
ML> they'd be laid off anyway.

Seasonal work is better than no work and having to draw unemployment.
Also gets people off of food stamps and such like while they're working.

ML> > Do they sell build your own house kits? Sears used to.

ML> Checked; they do, but anyhow Sears sold
ML> house kits only until 1942.

I knew Sears had stopped but didn't know that Amazon did it. Is it kits
like Sears and Jim Walter used to have?

 ML> We're looking more for short-term storage,
ML> when 40 below ambient should do okay.

OTOH, we need the longer term storage when we're out with the camper.

ML> > Somewhat by accident. Pantry stocking is done on a regular basis

ML> I'm sure Steve or his taste buds is
ML> thankful for the lack of MREs!

Very much so! When his dad was still hunting, we shipped him a case to
use for "field food". He thought them better than the C-Rations he had
while in the Army but still not overly impressed with them. When we had
to keep Evac(uation) kits on hand (in Germany and Hawaii), we kept some
MREs on hand but they're long gone now.

 ML> > ML> Mousse souffle au chocolat
ML> > Just give me the chocolate..................

 ML> Kate Hepburn's brownies
ML> categories: celebrity x2, chocolate, dessert

 ML> 2 oz baking chocolate
 ML> 1/4 lb unsalted butter
 ML> 1 c sugar
 ML> 2 beaten eggs
 ML> 1/2 ts vanilla
 ML> 1/4 c flour
 ML> 1/4 ts salt
 ML> 1 c coarsely chopped walnuts

I'll leave out the nuts but otherwise it looks good. Looks like more of
a fudgy brownie instead of a cake like one.
