Hi Carl. I'm in Central New York. Site Based teams are in full swing here.
Any state that applied for Federal funds for education is using site-based
management as a stipulation for qualifying for those funds under Goals 2000.
I was a part of a site-based team but I gave it up. All of the truly
important decisions such as curriculum content, teaching methods & the like
are still made on the State level as it trickles down from the Federal Dept.
of Education. I felt that it was more of a bone being thrown to parents to
make them feel like they are part of the decision making process. The reality
is different. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents!
