Hi Michael,
ML> > Some of my books were bought as reads for long flights. (G)
ML> Oh, of course. I can't read any more on the
ML> plane, being out of practice and having new
ML> eyes. It's a real trial as well to ride in
I just have to remember to put a pair of reading glasses in my purse or
other carry on. The Nook has a light that is handy for reading at night,
provided of course, I remember to check its batteries.

I understand. It's not quite as vital to me since I have other ways to
get reading material. One nice feature of the on line newspaper is that
it has several extra sections that go into news, sports and business in
more depth than the paper edition.

ML> Part of it is that the professional
ML> opportunities for the handicapped, shy,
ML> or female started opening up, so you no
ML> longer got lots of first-class brains
ML> trapped in low-paying jobs where accuracy
ML> was de rigueur.
And proofreading has become a dying art, thanks to computers with spell
check. Trouble is, they don't have a sense check also.

I usually don't order fish (but will order seafood) at an Asian
restaurant.

At the time, I thought so.

British actress, big in the late 50s/early 60s.

I wasn't planning on anything that needed the premix that I usually have
on hand so didn't bring it. It was just one of these last minute "let's
do this" sort of thing.

I'd rather do it that way. (G)

ML> 5 oz adzuki beans
ML> 4 c water
ML> 3 c sugar
ML> 1 pn salt
ML> 1 Tb dogtooth starch dissolved in
ML> 1 ts water
ML> M's note. I think that dogtooth starch is made out of the corm

I figured cornstarch would be a good sub; I think we do have some
arrowroot also.
