If the 504 or IEP (which is preferable) specifies that the child is to 
be transported by bus, a bus suspension for >5 days counts as a change 
of placement and CANNOT BE IMPLEMENTED (except if the child is a danger 
to others) BEFORE THE MEETING FOR SPEICIAL ED.
Even if the suspension is for <5 days, the committee can be reconvened 
by the parent requesting it. I do this EVERY SINGLE TIME THERE IS ANY 
FOR OF DISCIPLINE WHERE I DISAGREE WITH EITHER THE NATURE, SEVERITY OR 
SCOPE OF DISCIPLINE.
