What really does? except for Hollywood pot-boilers.

I've just looked it up in my Movie Guide
book. 1985 -- nearly 20 years ago. Shows how
speedy I am in following up on these things. I
guess the MOnty Python and social satire aspects
is what caught my eye way back.

Thanks for the url, but no, my computer isn't up to it.
I shouldn't have any trouble finding it locally, however.

That's an odd coincidence -- a friend of mine,
a Kurosawa fan, has been after me to watch that as
well. I have his list here somewhere. Ah, Voici:

 Drunken angel [videorecording] 1 videocassette
VHS) (102 min Japanese dialog, English subtitles.
1948 Director, Akira Kurosawa --- The story of a
physician who tries to be a healer in a world of
hoodlums. - Uegusa, Keinosuka. Mifune, Toshiro,
1920- Shimura, Takashi, 1905- Yamamoto, Reizaburo.

 Rashomon [videorecording] directed by Akira
Kurosawa. -- videocassette (VHS)(83 min. In
Japanese with English subtitles. 1950. Toshiro
Mifune, Machiko Kyo, Masayuki Mori. --- In
medieval Japan, two travelers attempt to discover
the truth about a rape-murder, as three
participants and one witness give conflicting
 accounts of the crime.

Yojimbo [videorecording] : the bodyguard -
directed by Akira Kurosawa. -- videocassette (VHS)
(111 min.) Toshiro Mifune, Eijiro Tono.

 Etc.

Rashomon has a Hollywood remake version as well,
doesn't it? Can't recall the title.

You're forgetting that I go back to when there
were -only- black and white films and foreign
 films were never dubbed. [g]
