hunh? aren't we in a multitasking world where one can easily open or switch to
another task and create the missing directory or file while still in the editor
or config program? ;)

one of the things that i have found problematic with autocreating directories
is when something is misspelled or typoed... it isn't always easy to spot them
but i generally find them with i'm looking for a directory and it isn't where
it is supposed to be because of the typo... it is those times that i'm glad the
programs can/will move things for me when i correct the misspelling or typo...
with daemons, i have to create the proper area and copy the old location's
contents over, then save the fixed config, wait on the program to reload and
start using the new location and finally i can then delete the old location...
sometimes it is easier to just shut the program down, make the fix and then
start the program back up... kinda sucks when you find you've typoed again ;)
