G'day Bob,
Replying to a message of Bob Lawrence to Niels Petersen on 02-05-96:
BL> These things aren't mutually exclusive, Peter. It should be
BL> possible to set up AVT so that if they pull the plug, nothing happens.
BL> What *I'd* like to see is AVT connected to the backbone at one point
BL> only, so that it's available but not actually carried.
Now I'm with you. It would only get passed along externally if they were
willing to do so and if they cut their feed to Avtech we wouldn't give a
shit as it would only affect them and their downfeeds, not us.
BL> And as soon as we get a new customer, we get him to join the inner net
BL> so that the main backbone never carries traffic for any length of time.
I hadn't thought of that. That might work.
BTW, it's starting to sound like a priesthood. I hope this doesn't mean
we're going to promote Rod Speed to God Speed :-)
Regards...Jeff (jeff{at}grntrs.dialix.oz.au)
