1237c37bc94b tech Hello Phil - --8<--cut PM> Yah, but this stuff is =HARD=!!! But another issue: I don't PM> see the point of using the security Torx screws in stuff PM> for private consumption -- unless their intention is to PM> make the product unserviceable by the consumer -- or at PM> least give you some hassle before you can do so. What I'm PM> trying to fix is an ordinary kitchen mixer -- not some high PM> voltage dangerous item. So what's the point? The only other PM> place I've seen those screws used is in public places where PM> they -might- reduce theft and vandalism. That I can PM> understand. When I lost the tip of one finger to a heavy front door of my house the surgeon had mainly women in the waiting room of his offices. When it was my turn to see him I asked where all the men were these women were waiting for. He laughed and said 75% of his patients were women. Seems woman don't get the 'training' when using blenders etc. that young men receive when working around machinery for the first time and they lose fingers in the process. I do know women will try to fish a spoon from a garbage disposal unit without unplugging it first. I'm guessing that many woman attempt to 'fix' appliances without unplugging them first? The other probability is that much of this is assembled using automation and once they are tooled up to use a certain fastener why retool for a different one. It is also a pain to stock and inventory multiple types/sizes of fasteners. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
