MS-DOS 6.22 and Win3.11 are said to be the most stable platforms
ever to come out of MicroSoft.

I was visiting a friend who at the time was running a BBS coupled
to an amatuer radio satelite link on his ONE computer. About
every 90 minutes other functions on the computer would slow right
down as the link took priority.

When I asked why he didn't have a separate computer solely for the
BBS and link, he just looked at me as though I was asking why he
didn't have two wives...

I've never understood the mentallity that says you are not
allowed to split your tasks between completely separate
computers.

My hobby. That's why I can't afford hardare upgrades.

If it was work I could finance a more powerful computer that
would be able to run the latest and more common software.
