Two out of three so far have answered.
One mentioned the story should be sold to Hollywood (747). The other
remarked it looks like a scenario for "McGyver" (777).
None consider it serious and affirm that other than e.g. VOR-identification
Morse is "out". And even the VOR-identification is not listened
to by ear but captured by the FMS (Flight Management System) and displayed
on the screen.
I'm sorry, no offense, that's what 2 people in the business tell me.
