A major reason that people do not like Byron is that he gives off too
many warning signals about his cult.  The video of Robbie Williams
singing "Sin Sin Sin" shows similar signals.

When Garibaldi goes to see Byron he keeps meeting pretty girls - in
most places security guards are big, burly men.  Lots of girls are
a harem = sex.

Next Byron is rude to Garibaldi, there are polite ways of saying no.
Byron also acts like he is attending a job interview, so No means
Yes.  When Lyta is sent to Byron he is rude and over bearing to her,
particularly in the use of commands.   This is from a man who is
preaching love.  He may preach love but he is obviously about
something else.

The male geeks may be unhappy with Byron winning the prom queen
but this does not explain why the women do not like him.  However
as the cult video shows women are wise to be suspicious about an
exploitative man into power, sex and lies - they will get burnt.
