This is an oxymoron...  'cheap' and 'good quality' rarely, if ever go

together in the same sentence.

You shouldn't have to pay this much for a 'cheap' but 'good' machine.

Those being sold for around $600 and up, are generally LP and/or HIFI

machines these days, and it appears you want neither.

For general day to day record/playback, a simple 2 headed machine will

suffice, and you shouldn't have any trouble finding a Sharp/Phillips

machine of this type for somewhat less than $500.



Avoid Akai's, Samsungs, and anything made in Taiwan or Korea.
