BM> MB>I'm wondering, do non-plane 16-color modes exists?... it would make

BM> As far as I know, only Tandy computers have single-planar 16-color
des.
Tandy are clones of PCjr. I had a PCjr in the late 8ies, was quite
cool, the 16-color mode was basically a CGA-like mode, memory-wise.
BM> Two read modes... one asks "is the bit active in this plane?", the other
BM> asks "is this pixel this color?"
Hmmm i'll have to recheck my docs... but i usually try to avoid doing
getpixel...
BM> Only white or black is all planes at once... other colors are active in
BM> some planes, and not others. EGA has weird write modes... one of them
Wo... that's not what i meant by `all planes at once'.
BM> writing the same data to a set of bit planes, another copies data from

the `copying' part of it is quite interesting for sprites on slow
machines...
