-=> Quoting Tom Walker to Mike Ross <=- -> I just read a chart for VHF propagation. There's a dotted line labeled -> "Line of sight" at about 70-80 miles. It shows reception of VHF at over -> a 200 mile limit however I suspect that would be mostly for FM radio. -> High UHF is mostly limited to "line of sight" unless there is ducting. -> As for the flat land, the "line of sight" distance increases a lot if -> the antenna site is elevated such as when erected on a mountain top. TW> Or places like Flat Land Amercia where they install 1000 Foot Tall TW> Antenna Towers. Here in portland we've got the "West Hills". A basaltic ridge about 1000 to 1500 feet high. Gues where all the antennas are. And there's one monster that must be close to that 1000 feet figure. --- FMailX 1.60* Origin: Shadowgard (1:105/50) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 105/50 360 106/2000 633/267 |
