Among other things, folks have had charges files for things like pointing out weaknesses in the encryption scheme used on DVDs, for writing and distributing the code required to view a DVD on a Linux box, and other even sillier things. Check the Electronic Frontier Foundation's web site for lots more about this and related issues.
