Hi Robert,

PMJI, but there is a PL/I compiler for PC-DOS under development by
someone here in England. It is being discussed occasionally on Usenet
in comp.lang.pl1 and the very crude prototype can be obtained by ftp --
but I don't don't have the Internet address handy.

Hmmm. I knew they had one for the MicroVAX, but I wasn't aware of one
for DOS. Every day is a learning experience. [Thank goodness.]

ML> "Structured programming" is a state of mind.

I have yet to encounter a PL/I compiler that enforces structure upon
the programmer. You can treat it as a high-level assembler if you want.

Note that REXX does not support pointers as such, so you won't be able
to address video memory, etc., as easily as you would with PL/I.
However, REXX is a great RAD language.

ML> PL/I for DOS is off-topic on this echo. If you want further
