I can think of an alternative, live like Ted
Kazinkie.  Go out in the middle of no where and
live off the land.  Use an out house, carry your water
up from the creek and barter for what you need but
don't have.  Of course you are still going to have
someone somewhere making all these things you are
bartering for.  Not my choice.
I choose not to work all my life, like my parents, I
choose to work long enough to get enough money to
invest then let my money work for me.  I am very close
to that point now.  In five more years I expect to be
one of the terrible rich people you seem to hate.  I'm
going to spend my time spending the money that my
original money is making.  And as long as people use
toilet paper, build things out of lumber or eat then I
will have the ability to make money.  Can you say
consumable goods?  Can you say smart investing means
big bucks?  I thought you could ;)
