Hello Joe -

JN>> Less than « hour of news daily, and perhaps an hour of
JN>> Welk on PBS if I'm home Saturday evening.

CA>> They're re-running the old "Lawrence Welk" shows on PBS! I
CA>> didn't know that. "A one and a two and a three". :-)

JN> They have been for years and years in San Diego. The
JN> closing credits tend to indicate PBS owns it, lock, stock
JN> and barrel.

JN> Much of the music in the re-runs is introduced by former
JN> cast members - much reminiscing about their days on the
JN> show. And although the commercials have been removed, it is
JN> sometimes possible to see a curtain in the background with
JN> a sponsor's name.

Good to know. I'm happy that people are buying these old shows
and preserving them. Even happier when they are being shown.
The old "Show of Shows" with Sid Ceasar still makes me laugh.

My brother and I were discussing the old "Rowan and Martin
Laugh-In" and "Wayne and Schuster" and other comedy shows that
seemed to be pulled before their time. I would watch them over
again if they were being broadcast.
