Hi Mario: MS> JdBP>> Remind me, and I'll check PowerPC OS/2 at some point, MS> a) buy an PPC from IBM MS> b) you have to know to secret, not published in IBM MS> cataloques, number of OS/2 for PPC MS> c) you have to pass the IBM check algorithm. (IBM is MS> checking the customers they are giving OS/2 PPC. MS> PS: just in case you don't know: OS/2 for PPC was stopped MS> 12/95 and they give away what they have. (not pretty much). MS> theres no developer working on it in 1996. (MAYBE in 1997 MS> again). (this is IBM's way to say 'shit. forget it.'). I don't think that this is accurate, Mario. It sounds like much of Merlin is being developed on OS/2 PPC. Check out: http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~kwilas/beta_faq.html Last I heard, it was fully released minus the networking component. I am still under the impression that applications developed for OS/2 Intel will re-compile on OS/2 PPC as well. Testamonials of these easy ports were abundant a few months ago. I would like to know what will change, since it sounds like the odd thing won't compile properly under OS/2 PPC. Perhaps someone in this echo could provide us with some of the things to stay away from. If a port is this easy, there can't be many problem areas. Why not get us developing apps that will port now?
