SG> SG> JP> ammo for it with your plastic. Pay cash instead.
SG> SG>Not necessary most places I shop. All that appears on the

SG> SG>the type. They don't know what it is I paid x amount for, only
SG> SG>where I got it and how much I paid.
SG> DR> What is on the slip is not really important. The store's
SG> DR> computer has all that data in easily readable form. And many
SG> DR> times that data _IS_ sent to the credit card company. There
SG> DR> is BIG money in mailing lists and your credit card company
SG> DR> makes millions providing specialized lists such as
SG> DR> computer/component buyers and I'll have to assume that applies
SG> DR> to firearm and related purchases.
SG>True, if they have a computer, etc. The gun dealers I frequent
SG>still use regular cash registers - not computerized registers with
SG>scanners. Others don't have communications between their credit
SG>card machines and their computers, and are too lazy to enter all
SG>that other info onto the receipt. Either way, the only purchase
SG>info on the receipt is the dealer and the total, not the type of
SG>item nor the specific info. Now, it's a safe bet that my purchases
SG>from Custom Cartridge Company are ammo, but only Carl (the owner)
SG>and I know what I bought.
SG>Now, if you purchase ammo at Wal-mart, you may be in trouble. But
SG>there, I only buy .44 Magnum and .303 British ammo (which they'd
SG>already know I own one of). Everything else they'd never know of.
SG>Sure they can find records of my purchases of some guns (and not
SG>others), but most of my ammo is unknown.
Wal-Mart and the like is EXACTLY what I had in mind. It never
fails that when I have to buy ammo it is on a trip where I don't have
much cash and always use a credit card.
Such as my last trip to Texas where I was with a bunch of Marine V-
vets who were qualified instructors under the (then) new law for
concealed carry. They thought they could outshoot this old Navy
Ordnanceman. So off to Wal-Mart to pick up several more boxes of ammo
and had to pay with plastic on a Sunday. It never fails! Sigh!
