What saddens me though is that in spite of my efforts to educate my customers about this, many of them will still go out and pay up to $80 for a U-beaut headcleaning tape that works no better that a $5 cleaning tape, which does little better than just leaving a normal tape running for a short while. I must admit I do get a kick out of the customers that confidently bring their machine in for 'repair' and tell me that its NOT dirty heads because thier $80 cleaning tape didn't fix the problem.. all too often have I been tempted to clean the heads (which is/was the problem all along), and then charge 'em $100 or more to "resolder the head amp". Instead, I rather "foolishly" clean the heads while they wait, smile at them and tell them how they have just wasted $80 on their U-Beaut cleaning tape, and then slug 'em with a $25 bill for doing what should have been done in the first place. ;-) Hmmm... no wonder I'm not getting rich... not only am I not ripping them off, but I humiliate them in the process.
