I'm one of the old farts (47) - there are plenty my age who went thru the 
60's who are on school boards and make policy decisions.
I think the anti-drug (arrest a honor student for giving away an aspirin!) 
mentality by those my age is unbelievable. They've been bought off and paid 
for like common whores (what a nice cushy job and benefits can do for you).
Certainly these are the same people who saw the wholesale abuses during the 
60's and 70's (FBI COINTELPRO, FBI sponsored assassinations - see
FBI Secrets - An Agent's Expose - M. Wesley Swearingen)
And now you mention problems with wearing a politically incorrect shirt. I 
rmember students wearing shirts with the flag on them, shirts with Fuck The 
Establishment on them - these are CONSTITUTIONALY protected by Free Speech 
under our (much damaged) Constitution.
How can we expect students to respect authority when we don't respect their 
rights?

As more and more countries embrace the use of hemp for its literal thousands 
of uses (from oil, paper, clothes, prtoection of our fragile environment) the 
US will eventually HAVE to allow its use.
The only thing holding it back is the wholesale bribery of our politicans 
(with Bill "Buy Me Off" Clinton) by the oil companies. When the oil companies 
figure out a way to control hemp usage and production (by paying off members 
of Congress to obtain specially written legislation) then HEMP will be 
allowed to be "legal".
