Greetings to you Sandra!
Wednesday, March 18 1998 kl.09:36 Sandra Peake >> Maria Van Rymersdael about
"Stevia"
SP> I find Stevia a little trickier than I was led to expect by people
SP> in the southern USA. Down there the weather is hot enough and humid
SP> enough that cuttings root without effort. They can't even throw down
SP> weeds that they've pulled out or the weeds root again! :-)
Yes but at yours as well as here in Belgium there's not reason to be scared
that cuttings will root when simply fallen on the ground. Even it's sometimes
humid enogh, it will always be too cold.
SP> Keeping that in mind, I have had my most success with rooting Stevia
SP> cuttings in warm weather, or in the fall after the furnace comes on.
SP> They resent fluctuating temperatures.
Ok thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
SP> So far, Maria, unlike either sugar or Aspartame, Stevia has not
SP> produced any noteworthy side effects. Eventually, of course, someone
SP> allergic to anything and everything will show a reaction,
As I'm not that easy allergic to something, I guess it will be very suitable
for my diet.
SP> The little blue packages are, presumably, artificial sweeteners.
SP> (Ours are pink. :-)
Fine to know this, I guessed as much it should be like this.
Up to now the plant is not yet available. Hope it will be withing short.
Greetings from Lanaken, Belgium
