With a name like Janis, I would assume not a Mr. but a she. Most of the
recipes I post were collected from various fidonet echos and other
sources over the years. It was a practice to put a line at the bottom
of the person who posted the recipe. That person was probably not the
person who created the recipe, and may well never have even cooked it.
In this case, Janis Foley posted that recipe into the Fidonet COOKING
echo on May 19 1996, and I captured it into my data base of recipes
after putting her name on the bottom.

Title: Sweet 'n Spicy Glazed Chicken
Categories: Chicken, Crockpot, Rival
Yield: 6 Servings
6 Chicken breasts, boneless,
-skinless
1 tb Oil
1/4 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
4 Garlic cloves, minced
1/2 c Brown sugar
1 c Reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 c Reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 tb Lemon juice
1/2 ts Cayenne pepper
1/4 c Cornstarch
1/2 c Water
In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and
brown on both sides. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Put in
Crock-Pot. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients, except
cornstarch and water. Pour over chicken. cover; cook on Low 7-9
hours (High: 3-4 hours). When done, remove chicken breasts and turn
Crock-Pot to High; cover. Combine cornstarch and water. Stir into
liquid in Crock-Pot. Place cover slightly ajar on Crock-Pot. Cook
until thickened (15 to 30 minutes).
6 servings.
