Yes Bug Zappers work very well in Florida!  My friend that I was staying with
had one and it took care of some of the Mosquitoes.  Keep the bug zapper

a distance away from your birds, the noise tends too make em nervous.
My friend Had 2 parrots and 3 dogs.  Neither of the birds were bothered by
the zapper as he had kept the cage away from the window where the thing was
hanging from..  What type of birds do you have?  Don had 2 Red headed Conures
Tame but kinda noisy when nervous..
