In the PLAYBOY interviews, end of chapter 24 (page 146 of my hardcover), 
John Lennon is being asked, song by song, about his work:

PLAYBOY: "Like Dreamers Do."

LENNON: That's Paul.  That was another one that he'd written as a 
teen-ager anad sort of resurrected and polished up for later on.  That's 
  on the audition tape that we sent Decca which is around as a bootleg. 
  I sing "To Know Her Is to Love Her" and "Hello Little
Girl" and Paul 
sings "Like Dreamers Do."  I believe they're all on that.

John's memory was not perfect (his response to "Cry, Baby, Cry"
is "Not 
me"), but note that he says "the audition tape that we *sent* Decca," 
implying it was recorded elsewhere.

Just trying my best to add to the confusion here.
