I just spoke to Stan and passed along all the comments of support.
He expressed his thanks to all for their kind words.


Shortly after the accident Stan got a cell phone call from Mikes good
friend who survived the accident and pulled Mike out of the water.
It is my understanding that Mike was pulled from the water and appeared
hurt but alive. Some 30 minutes later he started having chest pains, and
labored breathing. He was transported to the hospital where he died shortly
there after.

IF you happen to be following the story on CNN, best we can figure is Mike
was the first person added to the original 6.

Mike was due to be home in early November and was looking forward to going
to the University of Alabama, starting the winter or spring semester.
