Hi Anton,

As you can see from my signature block I am not a C/C++ zealot, so
I'll leave it to others to flame you. ... :-)

I have a copy of Speed Pascal/2 Beta V. The resemblance of its IDE to
that of Borland's compilers is stunning. And just like Borland's GA
products, Speed Pascal/2 is not yet ready for prime time -- but at
least they call it a beta. The compiler produces adequate object code
when it doesn't crash, which it still does occasionally, but the
optimizer is rather poor. Hopefully both the crashes and the
optimization can be solved before GA.

If you absolutely have to have Pascal you might also consider Prospero
Pascal and/or Virtual Pascal, both for OS/2. I believe that Prospero
generates p-code rather than Intel object code, so it won't be a speed
demon either.

Regards

Dave
