Don't  "rest on your laurels" [especially if your florist packed in a bit of
holly ;-). As you are thinking hard about energy conservation [most folk
don't] then *worry* about the effect of that chimney when the fire is cool.
Because at that stage eg at 3am your precious apartment heat is leaving your
body, the furniture etc, the structure and passing up the same flue warming
the birds and the clouds above.
See to it that the chimney has a damper or shutter you can close when the
burning, isn't.
