Keep in mind most EStats and Ribbons use an xformer between the amp and the
"device" to present a stable load. It would be tough to run some classic Quad
63's with a tube amp if the above were not true
I -have- run the original full range Apogee's w/o xformers; the mid ribbon is
a
reactive less-than 2 ohm load and the tweeter ribbon even less. We were
sucessful, but we were using 3 Krell KSA-200's activly tri-amplified! Not too
mny amps will exercise control in the low impedance range in general though.
