RS>> And I dont believe the claim on health even with shift work. RS>> You can in fact make a case that someone who naturally prefers RS>> to go to bed after midnight and get up sometime around midday RS>> and who works say starting at 1pm thru till say 9pm may very RS>> well find that better for his health than being forced to get RS>> up at say 7am when thats not his natural habit. RG> I've been this way for as long as I can remember (well, at RG> least 25 years), and MANY of my jobs were afternoon/nightshift RG> for this very reason. I used to consider it a 'joke' that not RG> only did I get to work the hours I prefered, but I actually got RG> paid more for doing it. I would have gladly worked the same RG> hours for the same (or even less) pay than my dayshift RG> counterparts... I am the reverse... I am a morning person who is dangerous around electrical equipment after 9:30PM. My brain just shits down after 9:30. I wake up with ideas bubbling... I read once that humanity splits fairly evenly into morning and evening people. It is important to know which you are. I'm useless working overtime... unless I get up early and work the time upfront. In the early days of colour TV, Channel 10 transmitted full colour at 3AM secretly and the entire lab had to get up early. I was obvious which of us were the morning people... the others kept electrocuting themselves. RS>> Pigs arse I havent, some people PREFER to work those hours for RS>> a variety of reasons, like the child care one I mentioned. KR> yep, probably ammounts to at least 0.5% of the population. RG> I agree that we would be in the minority, but I doubt that it RG> would be as low as 0.5% The article I read is long gone, but they were stating a fairly even split. You only have to look at the times on the messages in AVT. Paul and Roy and Brenton are working in the early hours (and so is keith, for that matter). If I tried to type at midnight, I'd probably smash the keyboard or fall asleep. What goes first is my creativity and common sense. When I'm psyched up to create, I just naturally get up earlier. The silly part is that evening people force it during the day, instead of rearranging their schedule for optimum.
