  Then you didn't even *try* to look, since simply setting your message
  pointers back about a month in this echo would have revealed that David
  Muir of FIDONET#1:259/423.0 has written a whole set of serial I/O
  routines for Virtual Pascal, and that he is quite happy to give them to
  people.
