The coolness is because the air will be channeled to go into and through
your hair, thus cooling off your head. Without a helmet, the air around your
head just sits there..
Its KIND of like how you'll get alot wetter running in the rain then you
will standing still.  Also how when you run through rain, your front gets
soaked but your back will remain relativly dry (like on cars)..
