Hi, Paul.

PE> PE> FM> What does PKT2QWK (and PKTJOIN) do if you run out of
disk space? I

PE> PE> Old versions of pktjoin did nothing. A new version which I gave
PE> PE> Dieter did full error checking.

PE> FM> Oh, should I freq something? Does it report via return codes?

PE> Probably. Yes.

I thought you wrote the thing? Or is the C syntax just going to take too
long to figure out, if you haven't touched it for a few months?

PE> PE> The trick is to always have $3 worth of disk space dedicated to a
PE> PE> task where you spend hundreds of man hours each year processing.

PE> FM> We're not all filthy plutocrats.

PE> So you mean I can hire you for $3 for 400 hours work? Ok, first
PE> of all I want you to modify PKT2QWK, next I want you to mow my
PE> lawn (would you believe chop a celery stick in half?).

I don't do lawns, or celery. The problem is not $3 for some hard disk,
the problem is that it doesn't come in $3 add-ons. I hope I can find
$500 next month for the 2 gig IDE. Doesn't look like it, December has
been a *bad* month.

PE> PE> I am under the impression that PKT2QWK reports an error, but I
PE> PE> don't know. BFN. Paul.

PE> FM> Why not? You've got the source. And can even read it! (Presumably;
PE> being
PE> FM> C it might be a little obscure if you haven't looked at it for a few
PE> FM> months.)

PE> PKT2QWK causes me to vomit every 10 lines of code. If you want to
PE> vomit, feel free to take a look yourself. Any C syntax you don't
PE> understand, just ask. BFN. Paul.

If I did I'd do it in Pascal. Then I wouldn't vomit every 10 lines of
code. I guess I'd use what you've done as, in effect, the spec.

Merry xmas to you and Xiayi and the pigeons. I was watching some at Town
Hall today, having half an hour to spare. God they're stupid!

Regards, FIM.
