As of 8/4/96 the BACKSTAT and BACKBONE.NA Fidonet backbone
adminstrative files have indicated that the CAR_AUDIO echo is now
officially a backbone echo. That makes discussion of auto sound in this
echo a duplication of echo coverage and is now off topic here,
regardless of what some may feel is personal feelings of the
participants in this echo.
 If you are interested in this subject, please take it to CAR_AUDIO
where discussion will be welcome. Ask your sysop (or hub if you are a
sysop) to request, carry and/or distribute CAR_AUDIO. I will allow
discussion of that topic to conclude here until Sept. 1, 1996 to give a
little time for distribution of CAR_AUDIO to get going without abruptly
shutting all of you off, but after this time, I will be writing
"off topic" messages to any auto sound messaging here.
Other topic areas that you may find interesting that is related include:
BROADCASTING - Karoake and Disco folks might want to check this out as
well as those interested in AM/FM/TV operations as well as here.
PRO_AUDIO - Professional Audio, Recording Studios, Concert Sound,
Installed systems, etc.
We will continue to look at the consumer side of the recording and
concert sound industries here, especially recording, as nearly
everything we listen to is made in studios, and can influence what we
are hearing on the media we buy.
Further discussion of why auto sound can't be here is moot and is off
topic. Further bickering between factions will no longer be tolerated,
nor is necessary. Any other comments on this topic should not be posted
to the echo, address them via netmail to me or send them along with
further flaming to the bitbucket.
Finally, I'd like to thank all of those interested in auto sound that
have been involved in the discussions here for being a part of this
echo, and I hope that you will continue to visit and participate here
about general (non-auto) audio discussions. Also, thanks for the
restraint that most of the long time AUDIO participants have shown when
things got heated.
