1237c3a947c7 tech Hello Phil - >> You may want to expand on this for me. I only know of the >> musical instrument "mandolin" and know of no 'holding >> device' for it? PM> It's a kitchen gadget used for slicing. Has a fixed blade PM> slightly raised on a smooth surface along which you slide PM> the food item to be sliced, the slices coming out of the PM> bottom. Works along the lines of a grater. For safety's PM> sake, it's better to use the device that comes with it for PM> holding the food item than just using your fingers. The PM> blades on these things are usually -very- sharp. Why it's PM> called a mandolin I have no idea. I'm not even sure I PM> spelled it correctly. Ah ... we just call them "meat slicers". I've told my mother and daughters that I didn't think it is an appliance intended for home use. Wood workers often do the same things on the joiners that shave boards down to size. They are taught to use a 'push stick' but get in a hurry and become too comfortable with the machine I guess? > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
