RSJ> One of my employees is writing a paper on viruses, and wants to know
RSJ> what people think is the 'worst' virus out there. Also wants to know
RSJ> what people think a SUPER VIRUS would be able to do.
worst as in "the greatest threat the computer world has ever known"? or
worst as in "you call that a virus?"...
if i were going to pick the first it would have to be a word macro virus
(because of their unique ability to "inherit" code from other infections
present)...
i would say that ginger.orsam or exe_bug would be close seconds because
of the difficulty they pose in removal...
i don't chose ripper or one_half because i'm envisioning an environment
with good detection protocols, otherwise their payloads in connection
with their "in the wild" status would make them or a virus like them the
worst...
as for a super virus, how about a polymorphic virus that DOESN'T contain
it's own decryption key... thus making analysis potentially much more
difficult...
... it's a dog-eat-dog world, and i'm wearing milkbone underwear...
