     Hi Lyle:
I'm using an old Texan APII that I bought in 1968. Still works
good. I load them just like a trap load except I replace the shot
with the slug. I find it's best to seat the slug and wad with my
finger so its tight but not crushing the wad. I use the std 8 pt
star crimp as for my trap loads. I haven't tried these at the
100 yd range yet so I don't know if they would have enough spunk
for deer hunting. They seem to work quite well at 50 yds.
                                Take care
                                Dave
