 PAL - Phase Alternating Lines - had a nickname: Peace At Last.
 It was the last of the 3 systems developed/adopted for color.
 Superior to both NTSC and SECAM.

 Wish I could remember what the SECAM nickname was (it was
 developed in the years between NTSC and PAL).  I can't even
 remember what the acrunym meant - "sequential" something.
