G'day Michael

MS> FWIW, here's my regular prompt alias:

 MS> alias pr Prompt "*e[33mRC=%R*n*e[32m%S*n%N*e[37m[]>*e[31m"

  Mine is now:

  Prompt "[%N:%R] *`rx 'say time()'*` %S> "

The colours don't worry me... :)

MS> For a while I was using a prompt with rx "say time()" in it, but I

  See above!

The advantage of using this instead of the DOS date cmd is that it shows
_only_ the time. Heck, who cares what calendar day it is?

MS> Here are a few of my favourite "`" aliases:

 MS> alias res resident *`which []*`
 MS> alias ls list *`which []*`

  Handy.

MS> I also have to mention this little gem:

MS> alias files rx "shell;f=showdir('','F');do while f~=''; parse VAR f
 MS> n f;[] n;end"

Heheheh! I tried it without first examining it... Silly me! I happened
to be in C: at the time... OUCH! :\

It is now a permanent resident in my Shell-StartUp, as I can see it being
REALLY handy for viewing dirs full o' pix, etc. :)

Oh, it strikes me as weird how some cmds work perfectly fine without
escaping, whereas others won't. I understand that it's all to do with the
tokens, but I'd expect them to have standardised their techniques!

Ahhh! A new toy to play with, my pretties! Brooohaha! >-]
