Here, I can get ammo on Sunday from either the range, a big department or
sporting goods store, and 1 gun shop. Well, buying at the range might be
letting the government know directly - it's a military range.
I just stay prepared. I buy ammo for a couple of months at gun shows or
dealers. But as I said to Dave, everyone knows what I own anyway. I am
intellectually opposed to secrecy. I don't go out of my way to show
things off, but I don't hide them either. That way, if they're going to
come for me, everyone will know there is no justification.
That's my big problem with the paranoid people. If you're trying to hide
things, no one will know enough to be able to come to your aid. You'll
just be considered some hermit, and your neighbors will believe the
"plausible" stories they'll tell (and probably many more as well).
I'd rather have the true giant - the public - on my side. In that way,
the government or whoever else can't touch me.
