Supposedly 3 db. However that gain is only available if the base of the
j pole is mounted on a metal support that is at ground potential *or* is
at least as long as the long leg of the j pole. Mounted on a wooden or
non-ferrous mast the gain is unity, as compared to a vertically oriented
dipole.
