I think you might need to define the areas manually, or maybe use an
AREAS.BBS-format file.  It may be possible to write something that converts
existing SQUISH.CFG and echolist file (*) into a combined file that you can
use with timEd (by way of the Include command in TIMED.CFG, or generating
an AREAS.BBS file it can use).  Maybe someone has already written one. 
Either way, it's probably not too hard to get working.

(*) in the format:

AREATAG Area description

eg.

ARTWARE  TimEd, NetMgr, WIMM, JAMINFO Support Conference
NET_DEV  FidoNet NetWork Development Echo

... or similar.  I seem to vaguely recall something called ECHOLIST.NA
years back that was in this format.
