And when you decide you don't want that precious thing you let me know
OKAY???!!!
Seriously, any thoughts about breeding her?
I have a friend that breeds them here in our little po=dunk towm, and
it's fun to compare the differences between them and other macaws, as we
breed B&G's, Miligolds, Red Bellied Macawsm and have Green Wings, and
Severes too.
B&G eggs are actually larger than a Hyacinth's. The Hyacinths eat a
diet higher in protein and fat, basically more nuts. Both the lady with
the Hyacinths and another friend that legally raises Palm Cockatoos
(among others) order all over the country for special nuts such as
Macadamias and others. The Hyacinths seem to really like Brazil nuts and
Hazel nuts. Our B&G's really like peanuts, walnuts and prefer almonds,
There is a Pretty Bird pelleted diet formulation specifically for the
needs of Hyacinths and Palms.
Having raised the larger Bolivian B&G's I think it would be fun to raise
Hyacinths. A challenge. Unfortunately I did not spend my money on one
$20000 pair but spread it out over numerour pair. Of course I'd also
like to take on the challenge of breeding Rose Breasted Toos also.
Hope everything goes well with you and yours!
