    According to PRCP.INF KbdSetStatus does not work in Vio-windowed 
apllictions. In my past attempts this proved to be the case.

    However... After porting the code you've posted here, I did manage to get 
it working, but shortly thereafter, my system became very unstable (eventually 
locking up while I attempted to reply to this the first time around). I'm 
assuming this is somehow due to my not restoring the keyboard on exit 
(although it shouldn't have affected my system this way).
    I'll assume for now that this  was a fluke (until I run a few more tests).
So thanks for both your patience and your code. I suspect the KbdOpen along 
with the KbdGetFocus are what made the substancial difference from my previous 
code.
