The makeup that they're using is different then the older makeup which caused 
problems in the past.. obviously depending on the actors complexion, etc etc.
 
Brent Spinner had no problems with Data's makeup since it seemed to help his 
complexion.. or so he says.
 
The studio's and major makeup artists strive to make it easier and less 
costly to the artists.. these tricks eventually filter out into other 
production companies, etc.
 
In fact last time I was in front of the camera (for a local LA show), it was 
a period piece in black and white about something that went on in the 
1800's.. and my makeup was actually "Hulk" green... yes, the makeup guy was 
the same one that did Lou Ferigno all those years and he had plenty left 
over. Didn't clog my pores at all..interesting piece, and I got to scare the 
heck out of several people by wandering around in makeup. ;)
