The message from Sharon Ulishney rises higher:
SU> I was wondering if anyone has the cd of ELO called Strange Magic and
SU> what they
SU> think of it? It's a compilation of all their hits....
I don't have this, but I have heard good things about it. Are you
looking for a good intro to ELO or are you a completist? The box set
called _Afterglow_ is kind of a disappointment because of things they
left off and things that they did to some of the songs.
I'm a fan of really early ELO and, if you are a similar fan, see if you
can find the UK double CD called _Early ELO_. It contains masterfully
remastered versions of their first two albums, some quad mixes, some odd
B-sides, and alternative versions of a few songs. Nothing older than
1973. Pretty cool assortment and the sound is, um, out of this world!
Maybe I should've said 'out of the blue' ;-)
