But one continues to ignore, and that's that.
You can go only so far to avoid offense, and
after a good-faith effort, well, too tough.
That's another gripe I have against zealots
and those who cave in to them. Chaokoh coconut
milk, anyone? (Which remains my preferred brand).

We differ in our reading styles, but I see
and endorse your point.

But keeping track of their comings and goings is
not trivial pursuit. Erdogan, Farage, Putin, Xi, 
Duterte, Modi, Bolsonaro, there are so many of 
them, some (like Berlusconi) hiding in the shadows, 
and you seldom see the strings, but they're there.

So make a 100 Island one instead.

Hundreds & thousands biscuits
categories: Australian, cookies
yield: 30

60 g butter
1/2 ts vanilla essence
1/3 c (75 g) caster sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 ts milk
2/3 c (100 g) self-raising flour
1/2 c (75 g) plain flour
1 Tb milk, extra
2 Tb hundreds and thousands

Beat butter, essence and sugar in a small bowl 
with an electric mixer until smooth; add the egg 
and milk, beating until only combined. Stir in 
sifted flours and mix to a soft dough.

Knead gently on lightly floured surface until 
smooth; cover and refrigerate for 30 min.

Roll dough between sheets of baking paper until 
5 mm thick. Cut into 5 cm rounds and place 3 cm 
apart on greased oven trays.

Brush rounds with extra milk and sprinkle with 
hundreds and thousands. Bake in a moderate oven 
for 12 min or until firm. Cool on trays.
