The rumours are untrue. What happened is that Guidelines 3.1 Base Pack
actually supported EMX C++ 0.9a. The runtime libraries were built with
EMX C++ by the developers.
For various reasons, including but not limited to the fact that support
for EMX C++ would be a significant outlay in terms of development,
maintenance, and support costs for zero return in terms of sales, the
powers that be at JBA decided not to ship those libraries.
( It's pretty hard to make a case that people who opt for free C++
compilers will spend money on other tools, or that EMX C++ will not
incur massive support costs when the nets are full of people who have
problems with EMX -- for which problems EMX users really only have
themselves to blame. Pay JBA enough money, and I'm sure that EMX C++
runtimes would be forthcoming immediately. )
