Hello !
Ok, I got a copy of the devellopers toolkit. It did answer my previous
questions, but one.
I know now that the rexx-interpreter is thread safe and that it will not
exchange vars with other threads.
Starting a rexx-program can be done with the RXCOMMAND CallType, and all
examples executing rexx-scripts use this command. There are however two
more CAllTypes that can be used to startup a rexx-script: RXFUNCTION and
RXSUBROUTINE. When do you use these or in other words what are they good
for?
And then: Would it be possible to construct the following situation:
I want an extensive loop to be run, but I consider rexx to slow to loop
approx 1000 times, so I write a function to extend rexx. (This is possible,
yes, i know) Within the loop I would like to at some time call a rexx
function, as a client from the original rexx-procedure (with access to all
its variables etc. (This is where I wonder whether it is possible...)
Anybody, do you have the answers to these questions?
Bye, Erik!
